Ready for Takeoff?

Cheers!!

J and I are sitting in the gate waiting to board and I'm not sure when I'll have wifi again!!! Here's our adventure so far!!

Went to bed and woke up to extra cuddles with our darling. We will miss her so much!!! She is in very good hands at my in-laws house.

She was still sleepy when I drove her down to Midlo to say bye and set up her crate. Sleepy, but still a vigilant copilot.

I went to get my nails done and finish last minute errands and when J's mom came to pick us up she brought snack bags!!!! Including adorable and delicious red velvet little Debbie cakes.

Soon we were seated on a tiny commuter to our layover in DC. J had to duck his head in the cabin.

Do you see a colonial woman churning butter?

Check out the RVA skyline in the distance. Love my city. See you in 2 weeks!!!

When we got off the commuter, we noticed we were "DOWN BY THE RIVER!" Thankfully not in a van.

Not sure if they have doughnuts in the UK, so made sure I got one for dessert. Not my fav, Krispy Kreme, but I still have a favorite at Dunkin'...

Strawberry frosted!!

So now we're waiting to board. This is my longest flight I've ever been on and my first time going to another country. I'm so excited! I hope I can sleep! I want to be as awake as possible when we get into London because we'll only be spending one measly night there! And in deference to my love, 4 of our waking hours will be devoted to a 'football' game for a teamwe care nothing about. *le Ugh.* Anyway, wish us luck! Pray for us! Email, skype and FaceTime!!!!

Love, or shall I say cheers?

Puppy Run!

Today I had a special running buddy!!!

Pepper!

I keep meaning to work on her leash training, particularly running. I can think of a few awesome things that can come of this:
1) exercise for this hyperactive terrier/hound/retriever/monkey/dinosaur.
Yay for less whining at night because she's bored.
2) this little distract-a-nator will be super alert for pending cars, pedestrians, hooligans, and alike.

A downside (at least until she's more used to this) is that I nearly twisted an ankle 3 times... But I have faith!

When we got home she went straight to her pre-iced water dish.

Yes it says "Good Dog" Inside the dish.

Then she proceeded to plop down and pass out while I stretched and rehydrated.

Oh how I never tire of pictures of her. My love.

Additionally, today I tried out my first pair of running socks!!! I got them at Costco, but regardless, I recommend them! I didn't know how important running socks were until I had a pair on. When you're wearing the RIGHT socks, you don't feel like you're wearing socks!! That's awesome! I also thought that it was cool that these are mostly spandex, a little cotton and I kid you not 2% rubber. Hmm. Maybe in the grey areas? Here they are!

Anyway. Still doing laundry and packing for England!!! Yay!!

Love,
Brooke

Only Halfway Over

As I left work today I stopped by Cowardin Jewlers and had then adjust the ring guard from my weight loss (yay skinner fingers=easier music playing!!!). While I was there I showed the gentleman a ring I found last night when I went though the jewelry box from before we moved. (I know it's been a year. Trust me, I know.) I didn't have high hopes. I was the kind of kid that thought anything that was pretty was good enough to keep. (Like hoarders in training wheels.) it may have come out of a bubblegum machine just as easily as from a decease relative and I would have (and did) put the same value on it,"it's pretty!"

(Ignore my ugly scabs!)

While the stamp has been rubbed off over time and use (I heard this as "vintage antique old"), the gentleman said it was a real natural ruby and 14 c. Gold.

Le whoop!

Obviously that isn't an official appraisal but you bet when Antiques roadshow comes back to RVA, I'm bringing this bad mother in!

In other news is a misty rainy day so I'm putting of running for a bit. May do an intense session of yoga instead, but it's date night so we might do other exercise instead. Heh.

Anywho!

Pepper says hello!

She's looking over my shoulder, making sure I don't misspell anything. ;)

Love,
Brooke
